Curved timber bartop with its blue resin river sweeping past the beer taps and back bar at Bluehole Steakhouse.

The making

Arc sections templated in MDF, routed on the CNC, then joined and poured. The curved shopfitting base was built in parallel so each section could be dry-fitted in the workshop before finishing.

Step 1: a raw, rough-sawn timber slab in the Finecraft workshop before it is machined into bartop sections.
Step 2: a timber section clamped to a template on the CNC machine bed, ready to be cut to the bar's curve.
Step 3: a curved bartop section after machining, with the channel for the resin river routed along its length.
Step 4: the curved bartop sections dry-fitted into a full ring on supports in the workshop to check the joins before the resin pour.

Step 6: a bartop end piece standing upright in the workshop, with the blue resin river continuing down its face.
Step 7: finished curved bartop sections lined up on racks in the Finecraft workshop, ready for wrapping and delivery.
Step 8: the completed bartop sections laid out as a full ring on the workshop floor for a final check before the install.

The install

Wrapped, palletised and delivered, then fitted on site.
